Terms of use
These terms apply while ozdor is used privately by one family and its close friends.
-
What this is. ozdor is a private project for one family and its close friends. It is offered as it is, free, with no warranty: keep WhatsApp's own backup on too, and keep your recovery code safe.
-
What ozdor works with. ozdor makes and keeps a safety copy of one WhatsApp account, on one Android phone:
- the standard WhatsApp app from Google Play,
- on the phone that WhatsApp is registered on (WhatsApp calls it the primary phone),
- with WhatsApp's chat backup on that phone, locked with a 64-digit key,
- and one Google account for the safety copy in Google Drive.
Not supported (yet). ozdor does not make a copy of these. Some may come later; until then the app will not copy them, and nothing here promises that it can:
- WhatsApp Business: the separate WhatsApp Business app, its own number and its own backup.
- A second WhatsApp account on the same phone: a second number on a dual-SIM phone, a copy of WhatsApp made by the phone's "Dual Messenger", "Dual Apps", "App Twin" or a similar feature, or WhatsApp in a work profile.
- A second account inside WhatsApp itself: WhatsApp's own "Add account" switcher, which keeps two accounts in one app.
- Linked devices: WhatsApp on the web, on a computer, on a tablet, or on a second phone linked to your account. WhatsApp makes backups only on the primary phone, so there is nothing there for ozdor to copy.
- The same account on two phones running ozdor at once. When you move WhatsApp to a new phone, set ozdor up on the new phone; the old phone stops adding to your copy.
- Modified or unofficial WhatsApp apps (they also break WhatsApp's own terms).
- iPhone. ozdor is for Android only.
- Backups without the 64-digit key (no lock, or a password): ozdor helps you switch to a 64-digit key during setup.
If you use ozdor with something on this list, it may copy nothing, or stop and tell you why. It never copies another account into your copy.
-
Your data. Your chats stay yours; how ozdor handles them is in the privacy policy.
-
Stopping. You can stop at any time: uninstall the app and delete its folder in your Drive. The project may end; the copy in your Drive stays yours and readable with your recovery code.
-
Changes. These terms will change as the project does; the app tells you when they do.
ozdor is not a WhatsApp product and is not endorsed by WhatsApp.
